Unlike other sectioning methods or cell disruption techniques, the McIlwain Mechanical Tissue Chopper does not destroy the fine structure of cell materials.

Metabolic experiments
Microscopic determination of enzyme reaction products
Materials that lend themselves readily to sectioning, including specimens of the intestine, kidney, liver, parts of the CNS, pituitary and other glands, spleen, and stomach

Product features:

Produces uniform 1 �m- to 1 mm-thick slices from biopsy specimens or small organs in less than one minute(preliminary fixation may be required)
Fresh tissue sections, 5 to 15 �m thick, often have sufficient transparency for examination by light microscopy
